April Newsletter (Fixed Pictures)

Dear Friends, Family and Supporters,

It has been a busy month, what with preparing to move and getting ready to have a baby. Things have been chaotic at times, but it has been very clear to us so far that we are moving in the direction that God wants us to go.

h2701122_1.jpgFor those of you who may not have heard, we have successfully purchased a very nice little townhouse in Sardis (Chilliwack), and will be moving next week. You can click the picture to see a larger version.

It has been really cool to watch how the Lord has provided and continued to guide us through this process. There have been a number of potential "hiccups" along the way, but each time the Lord has been faithful to clear the path and keep things moving. It seems that through this process, He is continually confirming to us that this was the right decision.

Having sold our place, we will be moving into the new one on May 4'th, starting at 2:00 PM at our condo. We will be providing pizza and pop in the evening for those who come to help. Please let us know if you are able to come.

Baby Is Almost Here!

Please continue to pray for us that baby does not come until AFTER we move. Carolanne is due on the 17'th of May, but we have heard some horror stories of babies coming really early. So far, we're not too concerned, as she has not really had any contractions that we know of. You can PRAISE the Lord that everything still appears to be normal. We have been going to the Dr's regularly and everything seems to be going normallyIMG_1784_1.JPG.

Of course, we're not the only ones who are going to have to adjust to having a baby around. Rusty already seems to sense that there is something going on, and we have been doing our best to prepare him for the transition.

The Ministry

In addition to all that is going on at home, we have also been seeing some exciting things happening with the ministry. One project that we just finished was the migration of one of our old sites to a new and MUCH more intuitive system.

Verse-by-Verse Commentary, which used to be called "Today's Word", is a commentary/devotional site which is read and used by literally thousands of pastors and believers around the world. The author, Grant Richison, goes through books of the Bible one verse at a time, expounding on the meaning and drawing principles from the lessons in the passages. My most recent project was the privilege of helping to move the 2800+ devotionals out of the archaic system that it was in, into a system which should allow for much more effective communication to the readers as well as a much easier system for Grant to use.

Exciting Stories!

It has been encouraging to read some of the emails that our team has had the opportunity to receive and respond to recently. I have included some of them below.

I have just received Jesus as my Saviour who died on the cross to save me. I wish I can walk with Him all my life through. Please pray for me to be strong enough to stand against the devil's challenges that I am experiencing presently.

COUNTRY: South Africa

I want God to forgive me for everything. My heart is full of sadness, and I cry. Please ask God to have mercy upon me and let me be better one day.

COUNTRY: Italy

I know Jesus was crucified for my sins, please help me know more about Him.

COUNTRY: Botswana

Please continue to pray for us and the others on our team as we work to help these people who come to us crying out for God's love.

Support Update

On the support raising front, we have had some very encouraging things happen. We have had a number of people just recently who have come to us indicating that they would like to begin supporting us financially. That is SO encouraging to both of us and we want to say again, "Thank you VERY much". Also, many of you have been VERY faithful in continuing to support us, and we want to say thank you to you as well.

We do have a couple of things for which we still need your prayer. One would be that we would be able to raise the money needed for the Campus Crusade Staff Conference this year. It will be taking place again in Whistler and is mandatory for me to attend. In order for Carolanne and I both to be able to go, we will need to raise approximately $2000.

The other concern is that, as we have a baby due very soon, we will probably need to adjust my salary to accommodate the additional expenses. (Apparently having kids can be costly :) ) I have received permission from my director to use some of the new monthly support that we receive over the next little while, for a raise. So any new support we get will go partially towards a raise. Please pray that we would be able to have more new monthly supporters join our team.

Closing Thoughts

I just wanted to express again how much you have meant to Carolanne and I through the time that we have been involved in this ministry. Your support of us, both financial and prayerful, has been SO encouraging, and I know that we could not do the work we are doing without it.

Wishing you a great week, and all the best in the Lord,

James and Carolanne Warkentin
