These past several months I feel that God has been teaching me to continue to rely on him for our family needs and that He doesn't necessarily provide in the ways that I expect. He has been reminding me of the many ways in which He has graciously provided for us in the past and continues to do so today. Ministry Prayer Requests:
  • For patience, discernment and a break-through as we continue to struggle with Facebook repeatedly shutting down our advertising accounts. We had a brief restoration of the account and then they shut it down again.
  • For wisdom as we continue to develop partnerships with several other digital ministries who want to offer the online mentoring we provide to their visitors.
  • For greater reach, impact and effectiveness as we seek to lead people online closer to Jesus.

I am very happy to report that God has answered our prayers and we have had our account reinstated. Praise the Lord for His mercy and for working on our behalf in the hearts of those at Facebook making these decisions. We have been depending on Facebook advertising to bring people to our sites and get engaged in dialog with mentors. This experience has highlighted for us the fact that we need to re-evaluate our marketing strategy and aim for a wider audience than just what we can find via Facebook advertising. Though we were doing some, it quickly became clear that we need expand our focus to a greater degree so that having one system drop out will not completely cripple our ability to continue ministry. Thank you for your continued prayer and support for us. God is continuing to use your prayers through us to reach people around the world.]]> Prayer Request https://ptc.jamesandcarolanne.com/2019/06/12/prayer-request Wed, 12 Jun 19 13:23:49 +0000 https://ptc.jamesandcarolanne.com/?p=2820 IssuesIFace.com website. To do this, we try to create ads that will reach people who struggle in the same areas that we write about on IssueIFace. This strategy has seen some amazing results, however recently Facebook decided that they didn't like what we were doing and proceeded to shut down our entire advertising account. As a result, the number of people writing in to us for help on that website has plummeted. Facebook has not been forthcoming with reasons as to WHY we were suddenly shut down, and when we have appealed (repeatedly) they have responded that the decision to shut us down is FINAL. They say that we are not acting in compliance with their advertising policies (which they seem to change often lately) but are not providing us with any specific policies that we have broken. Consequently, we are looking into other ways to reach people both online and offline. Please pray for us as we continue to work through this issue. We are continuing to try and restore the ads on Facebook but are also looking into as many other advertising avenues as we can brainstorm. Pray that:
  1. God would open the doors once again for us to advertise on Facebook.
  2. God would use this to make us even more effective in reaching a wider audience.
  3. God would bring partners to our ministry with additional means to reach people online with the hope of the Gospel.

I told him that I would certainly pray for him and then I explained how sin builds a barrier between us and God and that when we commit our lives to Christ God gives us a fresh start. I asked him if he would like to remove those barriers. He wrote "please help me to remove them .. Thanks. God bless" I then shared the gospel and asked if he had prayed to accept Christ. So far I've had to refer 4 people to the National Domestic Violence hotline and I've tried to help a woman who's husband has stage IV cancer, one who's marriage of 8 weeks is probably over, another who's husband is cheating on her with men and two pregnant 15 year olds. And it's only Wednesday :( My heart is tired. Please continue to pray for our team as we respond to these difficult situations with God's grace and love.  Pray also for the people we meet and try to help.  Thank you for your partnership with us in this ministry.]]> November Global Daily https://ptc.jamesandcarolanne.com/2012/10/19/november-global-daily Fri, 19 Oct 12 14:41:10 +0000 https://ptc.jamesandcarolanne.com/?p=1749 Central Heights Church asks the missionaries they support to submit an entry for the “Global Daily” monthly prayer newsletter.  The question this month comes from Psalm 68:19 which says, “Praise the Lord; praise God our Savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.” The question is How has God carried you lately? Often it is on the hardest days that we feel God's presence most closely.  We have felt like we've been hit by quite a lot of issues lately, however we continue to cling to God and trust in His provision.  He has not let us down. Please pray for: 1) The partnership we have formed with Jesus Daily.  We have now turned on the flow of messages between Jesus Daily and our mentors.  Pray that God would give the mentors the right words to say to the people who write in on FaceBook.  A number of the messages that come in are from Muslims who are trying to disprove the existence or nature of Jesus.  Pray for wisdom as our team and the mentors respond with God's love to these lost people. 2) Our prayer and support team.  We need more people praying for and supporting us.  We currently have around 41% of our needed monthly funds. Praise God for: 1) A new (to us) vehicle.  Our old car decided to become too expensive to be worth repairing, however God provided us with a very good deal on a different vehicle. 2) His continued provision for us.  We have been blessed by God in so many ways.  We thank Him for His provision and blessing, and for the opportunity to continue serving Him  in this ministry. It is really awesome to be a part of this life-changing ministry.  Thank you for your part in helping us to continue in this work.
