We had an open house for all of our regular financial supporters. Just a way of keeping in touch and thanking them for standing with us in this way.
It went really well. We had a steady stream of people from 3:30 till 7pm. We only opened up our place at 3, so as you can tell we had people at our house throughout the whole night.
We had a contest going to guess how many jelly beans were in the jar and there were actually 2 people that were really close. They guessed one # higher and one # lower then the actual amount. The actual number of jellybeans was 176. We gave it to the person who was actually still there at the end of the night. What would you do if it were tied like that? Would you separate the jelly beans between the 2 people that won? If we did that we would be holding onto the other half for a while until the person was able to pick it up.
Anyways all in all it was a fun time. We were able to chat with a bunch of the people that stand behind us financially in the work that James is doing on the internet. Without them we would not be able to continue, because it is Campus Crusade's mandate that all staff be fully supported. (There are the odd exception, like the finance people.) So without people's support, James would not be able to continue to do what he does.
We look forward to having another open house in the future. We think it went really well and it was not very stressful, which I like.
