Thank you so much for your ongoing prayer for us as we have been going through some very large family changes recently. Most importantly, if you have not yet heard, we have had a little boy. His name is Benjamin Matthew Warkentin and he was born on May 15, 2007 at 7:25 pm weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. Both baby and mommy are doing well, though we are still adjusting to living with and caring for a newborn. As for myself, you may have heard that I put my back out in the hospital during the delivery, but it has been doing much better lately.
Shortly before this event, we also had the blessing of moving to a new home in Chilliwack. We really love it there and have been enjoying getting to know our neighbors. In order to dispel any rumors though, we must let you know that we will be continuing to attend Central Heights Church.
In the ministry here at Campus Crusade, things have been a little more quiet recently. After Benjamin was born, I took about a week off from work to help Carolanne with the baby, and to let my back recover. Since being back at work now things have been fairly quiet. For myself, I have been working on upgrading and streamlining some of our key systems to make them more effective and reliable. As a team, we have been working on redesigning our main TruthMedia site in order to make it more visitor friendly and to give a clearer statement of who we are and what we do.
Another exciting project that we have been able to participate in is the preparation for "Power to Change Washington DC". A campaign for that city is currently being developed and we hope to launch the website very soon. Washington DC is one of the first of 500 cities world-wide that we are hoping to reach with the message of the gospel through campaigns like Power to Change, before the year 2020. Read more about this at http://www.crusade.org/strategy/strategy.html
Please pray for our team as we prepare for this Power to Change launch, as this website and process will most likely be replicated for the other cities that are a part of this strategy. Pray that we will be able to set up both the infrastructure and processes needed to properly handle the hundreds of thousands of people who will most likely be contacting us with questions, prayer requests and commitments to Christ as a result of this strategy.
Please pray also for Carolanne and I as we continue to adjust to having a baby. While he has already been a huge blessing to us and we love him a lot, there have also been some difficult times as we try to figure out how to be good parents.
Wishing you all the best,
James and Carolanne Warkentin
