Well, it's that time of year once again when we get ready to go to the annual P2C Staff Conference. Actually, it's usually a lot of fun and a great time of refreshing, spiritual renewal and renewed vision of where we are heading as an organization. I find that it really helps us to be more connected to the organization as a whole and gives us the opportunity to hear about all the cool things going on in other parts of the ministry.
This year is going to be a little interesting due to my recent surgery. We are still hoping to be able to go, though I may not be able to attend all the sessions I would have wanted to. Carolanne and I are both looking forward to it though because Grandma Wall has graciously offered to take Ben for the week, so for this coming week we'll be child-free. (it's also cheaper that way)
We haven't really done much support raising for it this year and should probably do more. We typically have to raise about $1600-$2000 for the event if Carolanne and I both go. This covers our costs as well as some equalization of costs for staff flying from eastern Canada and other countries. We try to do some support raising for it during the year but this year haven't done as much as we should have. If you would like to help us with this, it would be a huge blessing.
Thank you very much to all who have written to us in sympathy for my surgery. As far as we can tell, things are healing very well though it will probably still be a number of weeks before I am completely healed. I have had to go in to the homecare clinics every day so far to have them clean and re-bandage things, but as far as they can tell, everything is healing properly. Thank you for all your prayers and concern. Please continue to pray that things will heal properly.
Thank you for all your prayer and support of us over these past years.
Wishing you all the best,
James and Carolanne Warkentin
