James' business trip

Well Campus Crusade needs James to go to Florida for 4 days on a business trip with a couple of his co-workers. Most of those 4 days are spent in traveling. I am not looking forward to this time at all. I wish that he did not have to go at all, but there is no way out of it. So I'm stuck here for 4 days with my husband being away on business. It...

Photos from Otter Lake

Here is James and Rusty at Otter Lake on the nature trail we went on. You can click the small picture to see a bigger one. Here is my neice Carlee. She is 19 months. This is how we went on walks with her. This is also going on our nature walk at Otter Lake. We may add more pictures to this post in the future.

Carolanne's first picture post

Well this is one of my first pictures posted here on this blog. Unfortunately James and I never got a picture of us together on our last camping trip so I decided to post a picture of our dog Rusty enjoying a cool afternoon swim. As he got out of the lake he promptly shook the lake water all over us.

Crusade Staff Conference 2006

Wow, this year is just flying by. At the end of this month, Carolanne and I are leaving for the 2006 Campus Crusade Staff Conference. For those who don't know, this is a yearly conference that is held by Crusade where all the CCC staff meet in a common location and have the opportunity to share the stories and vision of the ministries, encouraging one another and hearing how the Lord has been working in...

Our trip to Otter Lake

Well we are back from our, second, weekend away camping. This time we went to Otter Lake. We had a bit of confusion when we first got there, because on the board in the front we were assigned a campsite and that site said "one night only". We asked around and finally were directed to the park ranger. We ended up getting to pick which site we wanted, out of the campsites still available. The...

July News and Updates

Dear Friends and Supporters, The last few months have been an interesting mix of busyness and rest. Things at Crusade have been reasonably busy these days, as we have been making some fairly large transitions from some old systems, to newer ones. One of these is the system we use to manage all of the email that comes in off the websites. We see approximately 5000 emails a month come in from our sites, and...

Carolanne's work

Well I have been told there are quite a few people wondering about my job statis. Well I am taking care of 2 little boys here in Abbotsford. They are 4 and 5 years of age. I heard of the job from some friends of ours. I started last week and so far I really like taking care of the boys. They are fascinated by the fact that I have 4 brothers and are always...

Answered Prayer: Carolanne's Job

Hey, we have a really cool partial answer to prayer and a continued prayer request. As you may know, Carolanne has been jobless for the last few months as her previous employer decided to shut down and get some more schooling. As such, we have been praying that she could find something else, preferably in the area of preschooling. She had applied to work at MEI, and we received a call yesterday saying that she...

Our Mini Vacation

Over the May long weekend, Carolanne and I decided that we needed to go on a little vacation. I had actually promised her that for her birthday (March) we would go to a Bed-and-Breakfast for a little vacation, but it was already May, and the B&B hadn't happened yet. So, instead, we went to a Best Western in Osoyoos. We had actually been there once before, a couple years ago, and had really liked it,...

Davinci Blog Ad Boycotted

Recently, in response to the movie "The Da Vinci Code", our team has been working to build a website which would allow people to come and discuss their thoughts on the movie/book and hopefully to engage with us in spiritual discussions. Part of this initiative involved the purchase of an ad spot in theatres before showings of the movie. The ad spot simply advertized an opportunity to "Seek the Truth" with a link to www.discussdavinci.com....

Our Second Child

We're proud to introduce you to our second child, Dusty. Dusty is a Crested Gecko that we have adopted. So far, he and Rusty maintain somewhat of an aloof relationship. For those of you who have not yet met him, Rusty's picture is below.

Our First Post on the New System

I have decided that it will be more advantageous to run our ministry website more like a blog than an actual site. So, this is our first post on our ministry blog. Feel free to let us know how you feel about it and whether it makes sense.

Our Support Status

For the sake of preventing confusion, we are no longer going to display the yearly support goal in the sidebar of this website. Rather, we will be displaying the percentage we have of the total amount that we need to raise. I trust that this will be less confusing than the previous way of doing things, and should also provide you with a more clear idea of what to be praying for.

Photography Ideas

Carolanne and I have decided to try selling some of our photography. Check it out at jamesandcarolanne.com. History behind this... Carolanne and I have been looking recently for a hobby that we both can do together. So far, our hobbies have been somewhat independant of each other. I enjoy working on the computer, and she enjoys scrapbooking. But, we both also enjoy photography, so we've decided to convert our old (and very out-of-date) jamesandcarolanne.com website...
