Selling: Cordless Vacuum - $40

We recently picked up a cordless Bissell perfectSWEEP Turbo vacuum cleaner. Our plan was to use it for cleaning in our new place, as all the floors are laminate and we need a good solution for cleaning up Rusty's hair. (he tends to shed a lot at times) According to others that we have talked to, it works really well for vacuuming both laminate and carpet, so we picked one up. Unfortunately, while it works...

New Website

Well, we've revamped our aging www.jamesandcarolanne.com site to now contain our family blog. Over time, we will probably end up making that blog more about our personal lives, and keeping this one for mostly ministry related stuff. Feel free to check it out and drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you. You can visit it at http://www.jamesandcarolanne.com

Prenatal Classes

Well tonight, March 7th, we started our prenatal classes. This was the first one of 6 classes. The 6th one is a reunion. It's nice to be prepared for what lies ahead. The more prepared the better, I think. It was an informative evening. We were there from 6:30 till shortly after 9:00pm. The part we thought funny was that the teacher had said it's not a good idea to go on long car trips...

March Baby update

Well we went for another doctors visit. We got the test results back from the glucose test that we did a couple weeks ago and everything is fine with that. NO GESTATIONAL DIABETES!! That is an answer to prayer, because I was praying that those tests would be negative. I've heard of people who get gestational diabetes and it does not sound like much fun to have to go through. The doctors visit went well...

Support Graph Adjustment

You may have noticed recently that I have adjusted the graph of how much support we have raised to be less than it was previously. To avoid some confusion, I will attempt to explain the rational behind this move. The previous support goal that I was using to calculate that graph was based on my actual salary about 2 years ago. This was not based on what Campus Crusade said that I "should" be raising,...

Bad Dog

While I am definitely a dog person, I realize that there are a few dogs and/or dog owners who give the rest of us a bad reputation. For example, I'm VERY glad that our dog Rusty has NEVER done something quite as drastic as this: Who knows! Maybe those pillows tasted like goose. Or maybe he just didn't like his new collar.

Our financial supporters open house

We had an open house for all of our regular financial supporters. Just a way of keeping in touch and thanking them for standing with us in this way. It went really well. We had a steady stream of people from 3:30 till 7pm. We only opened up our place at 3, so as you can tell we had people at our house throughout the whole night. We had a contest going to guess how...

We're Having a Train?

Well it's official, we are going to have a train. Well at least that's kind of what a baby's heart beat sounds like. We went to the doctors today to hear the heart beat of our baby. Soon as James heard it he said "Well it's official, we're going to have a train". A babies heart beat does sort of sound like a train. It was really cool to hear and to see James' reaction...

A BABY on the way

Well for those of you who did not read the part, or any part, of our newsletter about us being pregnant. I'd like to inform you that "we are pregnant". We are due late April. I'm thankful that I am not suffering from morning(day) sickness. I do feel tired in the afternoon and need to have a nap to be able to function properly for the rest of the day. I'm not complaining though, it's...

The Occasional Joke

There may be a few of you who remember my old "occasional jokes" list that I maintained. Though that particular list kinda ran out of steam, I have attempted to ressurrect it by creating "yet another" blog, this one with occasional jokes that I have found or received. You're welcome to check it out. It is my hope to post something new to it fairly regularly. The jokes should all be relatively clean, so if...

Staff Conference, 2006 - Results

Well, we're back from Crusade Staff Conference, and things are starting to settle back down to normal. The conference was really good. For those who didn't read about it, the Campus Crusade staff conference is a yearly event that is mandatory for all supported staff with CCC. This year it was held in Whistler, BC and was a great time of reuniting as a team, seeing how the Lord has been working across the various...

CCC in Orlando, FL

For those of you who hadn't heard, I recently went on a business trip with a couple of my coworkers, to the CCC Headquarters in Orlando, Florida. We went down in order to discuss and work through some of the details of a transition that we are making into a new software system that they have designed. This system will help with the matching of the 5000+ emails that we receive each month off of...
