The Question: How has God blessed you recently and what challenges are you facing. One of the things we try to do regularly as a family when we pray is to remember to thank God specifically for the many ways in which He has blessed us. We HAVE been blessed in SO many different ways and we are so very grateful that God has allowed us to walk with Him on this journey through life. ...Published 2013-10-22
Latest Updates and a Free App
With the start of the new school year and the end of summer things have begun to pick up around here again. Though it never really gets "slow", things definitely do ramp up in the fall. A New Devotional Series: Our film team has been spending a lot of time this spring and summer working on a story-based discovery series called Treasure: Jesus is Worth Everything. They have been incredibly busy working on this project...Published 2013-09-20
A glimpse into Internet ministry
It may seem strange or foreign to some that we get people with such personal and heartbreaking stories writing in to us from the websites. You may think that most of our work is with nameless, faceless "website visitors" who we never really have a chance to interact with. In some situations, that is true. However in many cases, we have people writing to us with very personal and painful questions that our team must...Published 2012-10-26
Car Situation Update
A quick update on the car situation. After much research, thought and prayer, we have traded in our 98 GMC Jimmy for a newer (and hopefully more reliable) 07 Jeep Patriot. We really weren't excited about having to finance a vehicle again (the Jimmy was paid for) however we needed something sooner than later, and felt that this was the right decision to make. Being a one-car family, that one car needs to be especially...Published 2012-09-24
Our Road-trip
Well, we made it safely back from our mini vacation. On Thursday Aug. 16, we packed our camping stuff into the truck and headed up to Lac le Jeune which is near Merritt. We were intending to camp there over the weekend with a number of other families who attend our church. We had just passed the first snow shed (tunnel) and begun the first serious climb out of Hope when the temp on the...Published 2012-08-19
A post I forgot to post! It is long past, but I thought I would post it anyway.
Well another year has now come and went. Can hardly believe that it is already 2012. Happy New Year all! We had a fun and enjoyable Christmas time. We decided that we would let the kids both open a gift each day a couple days before hand so that there was not as much all at one time. This went well. James had built a doll house and I had decorated it and Ben tested...Published 2012-08-07
Video About My Job
I've often tried to explain exactly what I do to groups of people and usually end up getting somewhat of a blank stare in response. Either I tend to make it too simple: "I work as a missionary on the Internet" OR I make it too complicated: "I help to build, code and maintain the back-end PHP/MySQL based systems and API's that enable our ministry to engage with website visitors who find us on the...Published 2012-05-11

Hey all, Just a quick update to let you know we have created a brand new FaceBook page for our personal ministry updates. We'll try to keep things fairly up-to-date with current projects and exciting stories from the field. We will still be sending out...Published 2012-04-29
Giving Instructions
It occurred to me today that while I have sent out a few emails asking people to consider giving a special gift this Christmas season, perhaps I haven't made the information on how people might do that very clear. So, this is just a quick email to remind you how you can give to our ministry. The simplest way to give is probably to just send a cheque in to Power to Change with my...Published 2011-12-13
Global Daily for CHC
Every month, I'm asked to write an entry for the Global Daily for Central Heights Church. This is my entry from October (published November). We are asked to respond to specific questions, and the one for this month was "Tell us about a Scripture book or passage that is especially meaningful to you." I (James) think my favourite parts of the Bible are those highlighted in red text. I love reading and learning about what...Published 2011-11-01

What are the major hurdles, from your perspective, that will need God's divine enabling and overcoming in order for you to reach your ministry objectives? What are these objectives? Our position within the Power to Change ministry is actually a fairly unique one. What I mean is that as missionaries on the Internet, we are not working in a traditional missionary type of environment. We are not somewhere far off overseas serving the Lord in...Published 2011-09-20

You may have noticed (perhaps not) that our website has a new domain. Instead of the old ministry.jamesandcarolanne.com we're now found at ptc.jamesandcarolanne.com. If you previously had our site bookmarked, you may wish to delete that old bookmark and save this new one instead. Go to the homepage and press Ctrl+D to bookmark the page or in some browsers you can even just drag the URL part up into your bookmarks toolbar. The reason for...Published 2011-09-20
Our puppy
Well, I have been meaning to post something on here about our new puppy we got in April of this year. She's around 4 months old now and her name is Cookie. She is a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a King Charles Cavalier. She will be a medium size dog when full grown. She kind of looks like a mini Rusty. (That was our Golden Retriever dog we used to have that we...Published 2011-05-26

Mazda3 for Sale - SOLD
[caption id="attachment_1068" align="alignnone" width="400" caption="2006 Mazda 3 Sport GT"][/caption] It's a sad day, but we are having to sell our very nice little Mazda 3. The problem is, it's too little. We realized recently that when going on trips lasting more than a night, we have to take TWO trips, just to fit everything child related into the vehicle. So, we have bought an older but larger vehicle, and are now selling the Mazda. If...Published 2010-08-31
