Feb-Mar 2016 Newsletter
Over the past few years, one-on-one mentoring has become more and more central to our ministry focus. People come from many countries in the world asking questions on our websites, and we try to match each of them to one of our mentors who can walk with them in prayer. It is amazing to see how these relationships can carry on for years as the mentors and mentees walk together along this spiritual journey. We...Published 2016-02-22
Mentoring Map
You may have heard about our new online mentoring tool found at tmm.io. Over the past many months we have been working to rebuild our online mentoring tool to be more useable. One of the features we incorporated recently was the ability to see the general region of the world where our mentors are serving. I find this map fascinating and it is just a small segment of the mentors we have invited to try...Published 2014-12-10
Gone Fishing
This story was sent in by one of our chat mentors just a couple days ago. Last Friday as I sat down at my desk, I thought about hanging a figurative sign "Gone fishing." The to-do's could wait for a while. Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men," so I prayed that He would guide me, to instruct me in the way that I should go. I asked Him to...Published 2014-10-24
A Note of Encouragement
I have written previously about how I have been working hard with our team to build our new mentoring system. We recently started moving more people into it, and other than a few minor hiccups, the response has been quite positive. I found this email especially encouraging: "The new training system is awesome and I enjoyed going through it. I like the fact that it consists of videos to cater for those who don't like...Published 2014-10-20
Some Statistics
Normally, raw statistics are not all that inspiring. I thought these were worth sharing though. This is a glimpse into why I do what I do. So far today, there are 24 people who have indicated that they've decided to accept Jesus as their forever-friend. And the day isn't over yet.Published 2014-10-10

With the start of the new school year and the end of summer things have begun to pick up around here again. Though it never really gets "slow", things definitely do ramp up in the fall. Saved from Suicide
Yesterday, a teenage boy wrote on a blog and said he had tried to commit suicide and didn't know what to do about his problems. After reading our mentor's response to him, he wrote back this morning: "Thanks, sir. After your response, i feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my head. I’ll try to live on, as death will only make me feel guilty afterlife. For being selfish to end my troubles...Published 2013-09-06
A Few Encouraging Stories [and a newsletter change]
Today, I received an update from our director, Karen, with some more encouraging stories and thoughts from around the ministry. I thought you might also like to hear them. I have included much of her email verbatim with a few minor formatting changes. Also, you may notice that this email newsletter looks a little different from past ones I have sent. I'm switching to a slightly different way of sending these, but you should still...Published 2013-08-30
Another Lost Sheep Found
We recently had a really great story reported by one of the staff, which started as an email from a visitor to one of our sites. THE VISITOR WROTE: I'm at the lowest point in my life. I feel lonely, unloved, and misunderstood. I am feeling worthless and confused... I pray that God helps me get through this... A mentor spoke her telling her how sorry she felt that way but that God felt just...Published 2013-08-23
Global Daily - June 2013
Every month I am asked to write a short update on a given topic for one of our supporting churches. I often share these entries here as well for your encouragement and to inform you of what we are doing these days. Topic: What inspires you to keep doing the work you are doing? I am always inspired when I hear the stories of how my work is helping others lead people to Christ. One...Published 2013-06-24
Some Encouraging Stories
Just thought I'd post a few stories we've had which have come into the websites and email boxes recently. Thank you again for your prayers for us and the TruthMedia team as we respond in God's love to these people. A mom returning to work. She had suffered post-partom depression a while back and was nervous about the transition. She just needed just a bit of encouragement. She wrote: Many thanks for your insights and...Published 2013-05-30
May Update
Recently I (James) have had the privilege of working on one of our athletic ministry sites called the Total Athlete Academy. This site is designed to help athletes from around the world get the help, teaching, accountability, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. Along the way we also introduce them to Jesus as being the only one who can truly fulfil their needs and change their lives. The athletes are matched with...Published 2013-05-09
100,000 Teen Messages
This last week we hit a major milestone: the 100,000th teen message! The 100,000th message came from a girl we’ll call Beth. Her life is forever changed. The conversation started with a simple question: Is there a solid way to stop cutting and get past it as a way of coping? As Beth and her mentor wrote back and forth a dark story emerged. Beth had experienced every type of abuse and was living in...Published 2013-04-15
